Here we are getting ready to do the final installation of the center section leading edge. Notice the section is 'upside down'.

Got both ends (and the middle) all level and ready to go. Notice the deburring tool laying on the table. All of the rivet holes have been deburred.

The in side of the LE was zinc chromated and clecoed in place.

The center section was then turned over, the leading edge wrapped and clecoed. It is not really this dark in my shop. It is just the new cheapo digital camera that I am trying out.

The bottom and some of the top is riveted and one of the bulkheads is clecoed.

The bottom and some of the top is riveted and one of the bulkheads is clecoed. Just a shot from the other end....

Mike Beasley, have you been looking over
my shoulder?

This is the center section in the paint rack. I built the
rack so that I could turn the wing top to bottom to make
painting easier. I am painting the inside, the bottom out-
side and the leading edges; all else will be polished. Here
you can see the access holes for wing attach, and also the
access hole for hooking up the aileron bellcrank; notice you can see through the wing at that point. Also notice the
cutouts for the bellcrank movement at the ends of the rear
spar; however I made them too big. They don't move as much.

I discovered that the paint rack was a great way to hold the
center section when attaching the hardware and the rest of
the fuselage. Here you can see the access holes again, and
a view of the gear. More pix of the gear will be in the
landing gear section eventually.

Remeber Bob Hoover's query about the rib spacing in the wing center section? This is an illustration of the problem. The Plans and the construction manual tell you to space the ribs 6 inches apart, except for the one you line up with the fuselage sides. This leads to a pretty strange arrangement. Almost 8 inches between ribs right at the wing root.
